School Food Service Program 2011-2012
Food Menu for March 2012 Annual Public Notice for USDA Child Nutrition Programs Letter to Parent
Dear Parent:
The Academy is pleased to offer your student low cost or free meals throughout the school year. We serve over 2000 meals a day to our students and work very hard to ensure that your child receives a Fresh, Healthy and Full Lunch Meal. Please click on the link to review our letter regarding free and reduced meals.
Application Instructions:
All areas must be completed in order for us to process the application. If any information is missing, we will consider the application as incomplete and return it to you.
Please list all current information including your FIP Case Number if applicable, current address and phone number. Be sure to list everyone in the Household.
If you have a copy of your current FIP Case # or current paystub, please include this with your application. It will make processing your application quickly. You will receive a letter within 10 days of the receipt of your application.
If at any time you need to complete a NEW Free and Reduced Meals Application because your life circumstances have changed (a new addition has been added to your family, or your family has started receiving state benefits), you may pick up a new application at the Academy.
Should you need assistance in completing an application; the Food Service Coordinator will be on hand at the school to help you.
Allergies & Disabilities:
This form must be completed by a Medical Physician and returned to the Food Service Department at your child’s Academy. We will be happy to accommodate your child’s medically prescribed diet.
First Lady, Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” Campaign
Charter Schools has teamed up with the “Let’s Move” campaign by incorporating even more fresh fruits and vegetables, lean cuts of meat, low fat cheese and milk products. We are looking forward to implementing “Nutrition Days” and “Physical Fitness Days” at the Academy throughout the year.
The Food Service Department works diligently to make sure we follow all USDA and State Regulations regarding our daily lunch program. We continue to strive to make every effort to ensure your child receives a well balanced meal. Food Service will hold two committee meetings this year at the Academy, where we ask students and parents to join us in talking about the lunch program. We want to know all feedback good and bad and hear what our students like and dislike about Lunch. For more information on attending a committee meeting, please see your food service coordinator at your child’s Academy.
